Simon Angus, Monika Piotrowska "Challenges and Opportunities for Computational Oncology in Cellular Automata." Short abstract: Many to one cellular automata provide a promising platform for calibrated experimental computational oncology. However, this technology also presents several issues. This talk will present some of the significant attractions to modelling avascular tumours with cellular automata and identify opportunities for further work. Specifically, building on the work of Piotrowska and Angus (2009), questions of scale, metabolism, cellular mobility and diffusion will be discussed and explored. |
